Why do softball players always crowd the plate for EVERY homerun?

I can't watch the us softball team anymore. Every single time someone hits a homerun, all the players gather around the plate and celebrate as if they have just won the world series. I think it is really pathetic and childish. They should be able to act like they have been there before. Would a little sportsmanship hurt?|||gee, sort of like all those soccer players do when they jump all over a player who scores one lousy goal?

If it's good enough for professional kick ball players, why not softball?

My suggestion is if it bothers you that much, turn the channel! Pretty simple solution.|||yeah i noticed that too, its really annoying, just get on with the game already|||Hitting a homerun isn't as easy as it looks. The whole point of the game is sportsmanship, so when a teammate of yours hits a homerun one of the best ways to congratulate them is to meet them at homeplate. It's always been the thing-to-do when a person hits a homerun so I don't see why they would just stop all of a sudden.
