What to do to be ready for softball next spring?

I have never played softball before, but i am thinking about trying out this coming up spring. I think i would be good. Anyway I need to know how to get in shape fore softball and what should i know about the game before i try out. Could i please have specific exercises for this?|||Don't run stairs. As a female, it is not good on our knees and it puts extra stress on the knees making them more prone to injury. If you do get knee problems, then work on your hamstrings. It will help heal the knee faster and help prevent future injury. Softball is a sport where you have to cover a lot of ground in a little amount of time, so do short sprints. Every sprint should be based off of 60 and 120. If you pitch work on 2 -3 pitches and master those then get good at about 3 more. If you catch then work on blocking balls and your throws when you attempt to pick-off batters at all the bases. If you are any other fielder, then just work on making good solid throws (which should be a must at any position) and know where you should be at each and every play. Don't work solid all the time, or even that often. Work out about 2-3 times a week so you don't get burnt out, or plateau, or decline in ability. Also, work in weights and running on alternate days. When you lift, do light weight and lots of reps. This will help build athletic muscle and prevent you from bulking up. Don't run too much, either or else you will get bulky too. Talk to the softball coach and see if you can get workouts to help get in shape. Contact me and I'll tell you anything you want to know about the game.|||Some stuff you can do a sucide drill to get better with your running. For fielding have someone throw you grounders and get used to fielding them and automatically popping up ready to throw.Pop ups just throw a ball up and catch it yourself.Go to the batting cages and get your stance and time the bal

I know that a pitching machine is not the same as live game action but it is as close as you can get. Play catch take grounders and do some running to build up endurance|||legs(jog, squats)\

Arms(pushups, if old enough weights. I found a cool way take a game console controller and push in the pad while tensing arms, then pull outwards)

stomach(situps)

back(stretch)|||up and down stairs might be a great way to get into shape, also try have someone hit some ground balls to you also, try running , jogging try running (simulate bases) 60 feet hard and if the weather is ok, stay after it all the time it's up to you how hard you want this|||you said you have nevered played, but then you said you thought you would be good! how is that possible?|||this might sound weird but take a twirl and jump (or just a ball attached to a string) loop the string around the tee and put the ball on it you can hit by yourself! good luck|||Play some catch.

Every other week take a trip to the batting cages.

Do some jogging.

Do some sprints.

About a month before the season, increase the tempo and actually start practicing with your teammates.|||you dont need to do alot of exercises. first, run alot to get in good shape. then you should find a hitting tee and just hit, hit, hit. have someone throw some soft toss to you also. also, throw the ball around alot with someone. build up ur arm strength and your hand eye coordination for catching the ball. and while ur throwing, have the person ur throwing with roll the ball to u like a grounder and throw it up in the air like a pop fly once in a while to make urself better at judging the ball. good luck|||JUST WORKOUT PUSH UPS,CRUNCHES,BATSPEED,JOG,BUILD ENDURANCE,THINGS LIKE THAT MY SISTER DOES THAT AND SHE ALWAYS GETS GOOD RESULT ALMOST EVERY YEAR
