The softball season is about to start up and I want some goals to work towards while I get in shape. Things like how many miles should a softball player be able to run, and how quickly? How many sit-up, push--ups, ect. I play for a 19 and under rec team, and I am 17 years old.
Thank you in advance.|||If you want something to work for work with your arms, build up good muscle because that's how you become great at the sport. Arm strength is very important you use it for batting and throwing. also make sure you thighs are well built. The key elements are arms and thighs.
as for running you don't really have to be able to run miles for softball it doesn't really involve much stamina. But a started is get your fastest time in the mile... I can run a mile in 6:10. Maybe you can make it a goal to me my highest. Also two miles is probably all you would need anyways, i don't know a normal time per mile but my 2 mile is 12:25.
As for sit-ups they are great what you should do is do them every night before bed start with doing 15 and keep working at it until you can do 50-100 in one sit down.
Well i hope i helped you! Good luck with softball, i know i love it :)
