What are the big differences between softball and baseball?

Besides being boys and girls, as well as the ball size, what rule differences are there between baseball and softball?|||Well, besides the ball size, the field is smaller. Also, some of the equipment is different (the bats and sometimes gloves) Also, in fast-pitch (at least on the high-school level) many girls wear masks on their helmets, as a safety precaution. Another difference is the pitch. Baseball is overhand and Softball is underhand. There are many similarities, but there are a few different techniques.





Also, in high-school softball, you can't lead off the base to steal until the ball leaves the pitcher's hand. I'm not sure about the lead off rules in baseball, but I think that they can pretty much leave the base whenever. But, someone may have to correct me on that one. If you read up on the history of softball you will learn that softball was actually developed for men (NOT A CHICK SPORT) In fact pitching fast balls from a closer range is much more difficult than what men do in baseball!

|||well okay theres a whole bunch of differences i will try to tell u as much as i can think of first of all baseball is a mans game softball on the other hand is a chicks sport. The balls are different in baseball the actual ball is white and much harder than then one in softball which is kind of like a tennis ball. in softball u pitch underhand while in baseball u pitch overhand.also the pitchers mound is closer in softball there is a whole bunch of length differences in these sports i wont list them all:)|||In softball they pitch underhand, in baseball it's overhand. That's probably the biggest difference. Also the distance between the pitchers mound and home place is shorter in softball than in baseball.
